Two walkers using M G Cottage as base for completing Great Ocean Walk & local sightseeing Feb, 2016
Couldn't Have Been Happier!
We stayed at the Southern Anchorage's Marie Gabrielle cottage for seven nights while my partner and I did the last three days of spectacular Great Ocean Walk. The cabin was more than we had hoped for. The cabin's highlights for us were the huge balcony with bush, ocean and beautiful sunset views and the spacious (and luxurious) jacuzzi which was the perfect remedy for our tired legs after a days walking. The cabin's kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfasts, lunch and dinner. The cabin was also spacious with a large comfy bed, a relaxing living area and a full laundry. Drew and Marie were the perfect hosts providing all the info and help we needed for a great stay and at the same time giving us all the privacy we needed. Also, as we are both keen bird watchers we were delighted with the Gangs Gangs, Wattle birds, Spinebills and mellifluous Magpies viewed from the balcony: not to mention the Wallabies, Kangaroos and and our first siting of a Wallaroo. We also found the Southern Anchorage to be conveniently situated to access the western half of the GOW, stunning beaches, and all the famous sites in the area, such as the Twelve Apostles, Gibson Steps and the lovely inland waterfalls. We'd highly recommend the Southern Anchorage for a relaxing, peaceful and affordable place to stay whilst enjoying such an amazing part of the world!
